A True Leader w/ Dr. Don Reno
Monday Jun 13, 2022
Monday Jun 13, 2022
In this episode, Dr. Jay and Brad talk with their good friend, Dr. Don Reno.
Dr. Reno enrolled in Chiropractic college after becoming healthier through his own chiropractor’s directives, which made him feel comfortable by giving him choices in his care. "I knew that I wanted to help people in a similar fashion". Don figured that he couldn’t be the only person that had an immune system improvement through chiropractic care so he enrolled in school to help others in this manner.
Dr. Reno attended Life University in Marietta, Georgia and found that the education process was a great challenge and an experience that is very special to him. The classes in anatomy and physiology were challenging and they gave him an understanding of how our bodies work. Dr. Ron Kirk was especially inspiring to Dr. Reno because he related his practical experiences to us and combined them with the sciences for a great teaching environment.
Dr. Reno is married to my wife Susan since June 1988. He and his wife's leisure time is often spent with our friends and enjoy outdoor activities that include boating and hiking and cooking, especially in a healthy manner. Good food does not have to be a detriment to our health. Dr. Reno enjoys reading, politics, history and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board for the Michigan Association of Chiropractors (MAC).

Thunder from Down Under w/ Mr. Paul Wright
Friday May 20, 2022
Friday May 20, 2022
Listen as Dr. Jay and Brad interview Mr. Paul Wright in this episode of "The Thunder from Down Under"
For nearly 20 years I was a typical hard working health professional – much like you - arriving at my clinics early in the morning – treating clients all day – struggling to also find the time to fix staff issues and other business problems - only to finally arrive home in the dark – totally exhausted – spend a few minutes with the kids ( if I was lucky) – have a quick bite to eat – then get on the computer to catch up on the practice management items I did not have time to do during the day - then get up the next day and do it all again.
I was living the nightmare of many good intentioned health professionals – who went to university with dreams of helping lots of people live better and more enjoyable (and pain free ) lives – only to finally open their own practice – and discover that the real world of health business ownership was a combination of long days, staff dramas, over reliance on you to do everything and no time for family and friends.
Transforming My Business - and My Life
Fortunately – I was able to get myself out of this nightmare – before it was too late – I started cutting back my consulting hours – to spend more time on the important areas of health business management, staff training, system development, marketing, recruitment – and all the other essential areas of business management I have been neglecting for many years.
The results were amazing – I was able to systematize my clinics- even expand to the point where I had 6 clinics, was seeing no clients, visited these clinics for only an hour or so each week or 2 – and did not even live in the same city as 5 of them.
By this time – other health business owners were asking me how I was able to run the businesses remotely and have such a great quality of live – so I started running seminars and producing programs, DVDs and packages where I shared my hard earned business knowledge and experience with fellow health business owners from such professions as Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Podiatry, Osteopathy, Massage Therapy –even Dentist, Orthopaedic Surgeons and Optometrists.

Saturday Feb 26, 2022
On this episode of TechTalk, Brad and Dr. Jay's talk with Dr. Naota Hashimoto, DC. Naota graduated from SCUHS (formally LACC), and with some hard work and mentorship, created a successful practice and at its peak, were collecting around 3.6 million per year with just 2.5 providers. Naota talks about how he has figured out many things to create a successful practice and heavily rely on successful systems knowing if he create repeatable processes in your office that can be executed by your team, life will be a lot easier. He found frustrations years ago from the lack of automated processes related to practice management software finding that a fair number of doctors and found similar issues with other practices. Even after using other third-party plugins for key performance metrics, he was still exporting data and creating his own spreadsheets because it wasn't the perfect dashboard. There was still double data entry, and none of it was attached to the follow-up and follow-through process. Plus, the more moving parts, providers, and service centers, the more likely he found patients falling through the cracks, wasted time creating spreadsheets, and frustrated staff. TrackStat software was designed from day 1 to provide a visual workflows for each user. It allows the clients to make decisions based on real data filtered down by various criteria to make an effective decision based on data rather than gut feelings. With this tool, our clients could boost their weekly production by 10 to 20 percent with about 15 minutes of effort per day.
